You've had a good life. A peaceful life. People who care about you, a job that keeps you invested and interested.

But something isn't right.

It starts with a little feeling at the back of your mind that something is off. That everything works too well, that the world is too peaceful. And sometimes, when you dream, you travel to worlds you've never seen with people you've never known and they feel more real to you than your entire life has up until this point. You start to get paranoid. Have you lived this day before? Is your spouse the same person they were yesterday?

Is any of this real?

When you finally Awaken, you find you're not alone. That others who live in your strangely perfect world are also aware of its fundamental truth: this is a fiction. A pleasant one, but a fiction none the less. And you are all prisoners of it.

The Deep Archive is a Panfandom AU role-playing community, with elements of concepts from the Matrix, Darwinia, Mass Effect and other Science Fiction properties. When characters are apped in, they find themselves in an Alternate Universe that they believe they've always lived in, complete with jobs, families, relationships and history. But soon they start to realize that the world they are in isn't real. Memories begin to return of their former lives. They Awaken, and gain powers that they shouldn't be able to have. Abilities to change reality and to see through it.

But it isn't only the world that isn't real. They aren't, either.

The Archive has been created at the end of time to house copies of beings who lived throughout the multi-verse, in an effort to preserve at least a fascimile of life while something - or someone - is destroying everything else. Stages of game play will include the AU within the Archive, discovery of their true nature, and discovering exactly who, or what, has made copies of them in the first place. The Fate of the multiverse itself could even be changed by these mirages of people, or perhaps they would rather burn the Archive from the inside and let everything fade into the dark.
